PRincipals Message
Pine Lane Crew,

We had an incredible week! All of the Holiday Spirit days have provided fun and levity.  Tuesday we had a great turnout for our Winter Band, Orchestra, and Choir Concert.  Almost a third of our Intermediate students are involved in our Music programs. A huge thank you to Ms. Dameron, Ms. Peterson, and Mr. Sanchez for their extra investment in our Crew.  Thursday, our 6th graders lead our Habit of Character assembly, highlighting the importance of teamwork.  They did a great job!

This week I also walked down to the Coffee Cabin to see what additional needs we may have for Warm, Fuzzy, and Toy Drive.  I was overwhelmed by the generosity of our community. This is the last weekend we are collecting donations. A couple of needs that we observed were gifts for 5th and 6th-grade students and coats of any size.

Monday from 4:30pm to 7:00 pm, we will hold our Holiday Shop. We want to ensure that all of our families are well cared for this Holiday Season.  The Holiday Shop is open to anyone in our crew. We  hope that it is a blessing to many of you.  A big thank you to those who have been so generous.

We have three school days left before Winter Break and the end of the Semester.  Teachers are working diligently on your child’s Elementary Progress Report (EPR).  EPR’s are essentially what we used to call Report Cards.  These reports will give you an idea of your child’s academic progress for the semester.  EPR’s will be released to you on December 23rd.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Service to our Community
GreysonService to our community is part of the PLE Bears mission statement, but Greyson Beaudreau, a 4th grader in Ms. Condron’s class, took it to a whole other level. At the beginning of the school year, Greyson asked his teacher about field trips. She told him the school district didn’t have buses available because of the bus driver shortage. The class would need to hire a private bus company to take a trip, and this would make field trips much more expensive. Not wanting to burden families financially, his teacher said the class would take only one trip. Greyson decided everyone in his class was going on a field trip, and it wouldn’t be expensive for families.

How? He started fund raising. A hot cocoa stand with classmate Kayla, a shoe drive fundraiser, football card sales, and neighborhood donations all added up to over $1,000 for his classmates. Thank you, Greyson, for being a leader by seeing a need to serve your classroom community and working with others to reach your goal!
