Jessica Zimmerman- North Building Counselor

Hi Pine Lane Families! My name is Jessica Zimmerman and I am so excited to be the School Counselor for Pine Lane Elementary North Building for the 2023/2024 school year!  I will be working with Fourth through Sixth grade students and will be here Monday through Friday. As a school counselor, I will work with students on their social emotional needs, their academic needs, and assisting them with beginning to learn about life skills. Prior to joining Pine Lane Elementary School, I worked in Douglas County Schools as a School Counselor for six years. This will be my seventh year as a School Counselor. I received my Master’s Degree in School Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado and my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Fort Lewis College. I enjoy working with students and helping them grow both academically and socially. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with friends and family and enjoying all that Colorado has to offer.

This year I will be working with students both individually and in group counseling support. I will also provide social-emotional lessons in the classroom.

Please reach out to me with any questions at jzimmerman1@dcsdk12.org or by phone at 303-387-8280. Emails and phone calls are monitored Monday - Friday 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Hi Pine Lane Families! My name is Alexandra De Bever and I am the new School Counselor for the south building for the rest of the 2023/2024 school year! I just relocated back to Colorado from Virginia Beach and look forward to meeting our students and getting to know each one personally.  I will be working with all the Kinder-3rd graders and my focus will be helping our students with their social emotional needs, their academic needs, and beginning to learn about life skills. I have been in the field of counseling/education for over 25 years and have had the wonderful opportunity to work in schools in California, Texas, Florida, and Virginia. I received both my Master’s Degree in School Counseling and my Bachelors degree in Psychology from Loyola Marymount University. I am originally from Lima, Peru so Spanish is my first language,  I am also a mother of 4 adult children and an avid sports junkie! I play tennis, run and row competitively so I am excited to be part of the Pine Lane Crew! When not working with your students you will find me in the gym, at tennis matches, running races or attending rowing regattas throughout the US. Both my husband and I enjoy supporting our children in their athletic endeavours as well as being able to participate in our own competitive sports and traveling while doing it!

This year I will be working with students both individually and in group counseling support. I will also provide social-emotional lessons in the classroom.

Nicholas Peterson - Social Worker

Greetings to the Pine Lane community! My name is Nick Peterson and I will be the Affective Needs (AN) school social worker for both North and South buildings this 2023/2024 academic school year.

My role is to provide social and emotional support to students while identifying different strengths and resources that could benefit them in their academic goals. I am a strong believer in experiential education and received my bachelors in Recreation from Western Colorado University in 2005. This background soon turned into a behavioral health career, where I have supported individuals of all ages in many settings such as schools, residential and outdoor behavioral health organizations across the country. I received my Master in Social Work in 2023 from MSU-Denver.  In my free time, it’s a goal of mine to someday stand on the highest geological point of all 50 states, though I'm always interested in finding new hobbies. I love hiking, climbing, biking, woodworking, music, and enjoying any time with my family and four-legged friends.

I look forward to being here at Pine Lane, if you have any questions or need support you can reach me via email at npeterson1@dcsdk12.org

Have a great school year!
