Pine Lane Crew,
It was so great to see our Crew get together this morning for our Annual Bear Brunch. It warmed my hearts to see the conversations and hear the laughter amongst our families, staff, and students. The feeling exuded exactly what we want within our Pine Lane Crew. A huge thank you to our PTO for organizing the event!
Each week continues to stay busy. This week our Discovery Program visited Ameritowne and the students simulated an actual mini economy, a great experience enriching our Social Studies curriculum. Our school accountability committee met to discuss our staffing for next year. We are moving forward with adding class sections at 3rd and 5th grade for next year to help decrease our class sizes. We know that our current 2nd and 4th grade classrooms are heavily populated.
As we head through the last two weeks before Spring Breaks we have several celebrations of learning upcoming. Next Wednesday, March 1st, our Orchestra will be performing with the entire Chaparral Feeder at Sierra for their Feeder Concert. On Friday, March 3rd, we will be holding our STEM Fair. Students participating will need to have their projects to school that day. On Wednesday, March 8th, we have another Chaparral Feeder Concert for our Band which will be held at Chaparral High School. I’d also like to note that about a third of intermediate students (4-6 grade) participate in extra curricular music activities. This is an incredible level of engagement.
We are also actively recruiting parents for leadership roles on our PTO Executive Board and our School Accountability Committee. We will be accepting nominations for these roles through March 10th. If you are interested in serving our Crew in this capacity or know someone who would be good for this role, please complete the following nomination forms: SAC Nomination Form and PTO Nomination Form. Thank you for considering volunteering for these positions. We will invite all nominees to our upcoming SAC and PTO meetings.
Lastly, our Spring Parent/Teacher Conferences are coming quickly. You should have or will be shortly receiving a sign up for Conferences from your child or children’s teacher. We hope that this will be a meaningful time to collaborate around your child's progress and next steps.
Have a great weekend! The forecast looks promising!
Sincerely,
Chris Stairs
