Pine Lane Crew,
We are now two weeks into the school year and it is so exciting to be getting into full swing. Our hallways and classrooms have an incredibly productive buzz to them and I am excited to see what they accomplish this year. Our kindies this week have begun their celebration of all the colors. Student Council is accepting applications so that we can get our student leadership efforts off the ground. Our car line time is down to 4:16 pm. Last week, we also held our Back to School Night. It was so great to reconnect with so many of you. If you were unable to attend, here is a link to my Back to School Night presentation from the evening that highlights several big celebrations, our focus for the year, and some of the ways funding challenges have really impacted our work at Pine Lane.
We also know that the busing situation is a challenge to navigate. As a Crew, we have encouraged our staff to provide enrichment opportunities for our students. A special thank you to Mr. Spencer, Mr. Harvey, Ms. Kinner, Mr. Nelson, and Ms. Dameron for providing some before-school learning opportunities that may help. See below for how to sign up. Please watch for more opportunities throughout the year.
A huge thank you to everyone for supporting our Fall Fundraiser. Continue to help your child or children collect those Cosmic Troopers. Last year’s fundraising efforts helped us purchase classroom furniture for 4 classrooms. I have added a few pictures to our Facebook and Instagram pages. This was about a $100,000 purchase and through our efforts this year we are aiming for another $70,000 to continue these efforts to provide our students with beautiful spaces to learn and grow. Thank you for your continued support of our school’s mission to empower excellence in character, achievement, and contribution to a better world!
Just want to remind you of a few details about our end-of-the-day dismissal:
- Ensure you have your student's “Default Mode” set to the way they go home over 50% of the time by Sept. 4th. This feature will be locked down beginning on Sept. 5th.
- Make sure you are very familiar with the PMK App on your phone and make any daily changes prior to 3:30 pm
- PMK is used for the safety and security of all our students for dismissal, and we need your support to ensure it is a smooth process at the end of each day. All students are dismissed by their teachers by what they see in PikmyKid.
- Helpful videos and tutorials can be found here: PLE PikMyKid Webpage
- A PikMyKid Flier is also being sent home today in Thursday Folders.
Thank you all for being such an amazing community! I hope you all have a great weekend! It is truly an honor to serve and lead Pine Lane!
